Double gradient text

Create new image. Mine is 400x200. Fill background with some gradient color and write some bold text on it. It should look like this:


Convert text layer to raster layer and use magic wand to select text. For foreground color select gradient. Make the gradient to go from darker to light color. Set the Angle option to 0. It should look like this:


Now select the flood fill tool and color the selected text to look like this:

Now to to menu Selections > Modify > Contract and set it to 3 pixels. This will contract the selection on text.

Now go again to foreground color gradient edit and just change the Angle option from 0 ti 180.

Select the flood fill tool and color the selected text and some drop shadow and it should look like this:That is it. If you have some comment write them.

Text reflection effect

First create new image with white background. mine is 400x200 pixels. Write some text on it, and convert it to raster layer. It should look like this:

Duplicate text layer. Go to menu Image>Flip and you should get this:

Select Pick tool then move and resize reflection text to look like this:Now set the foreground color to gradient type and edit it so the dark color is on top. Something like this:

Now select the Flood fill tool and paint the reflection text. You can experiment with the opacity of the reflection layer in the layer palette. Set it to about 50% and you should get the final result. Mine is this:

Simple glow text effect

First make a new document with white background and write some text in it to make it look like this:Convert text layer into raster and make then duplicate text layer. Go to layer palette and turn visibility off for duplicate layer and edit the text layer. Setting should look like this:
Now select Flood fill tool and color the text into glow color. I chose blue and that layer should now look like this:Go to Adjust menu select Blur > Gaussian blur effect and apply it. With radius parameter you can select how big your glow will be. My setting was 8 and got image like this:
Now select background in layers palette for editing and paint it black. Turn the visibility on for the copy of text layer and you should have something like this:
